We do this by collecting, storing, processing, analysing, and sharing data that increase our knowledge and understanding of biodiversity and the conservation of nature. Ms Hilde Eggermont
WCMC Europe is looking for a hands on Administration Officer that will manage the smooth running of the day-to-day running of the organisation and support all administrative aspects.
WCMC Europe attaches great importance to addressing safeguarding and ethical considerations in all activities carried out by its staff, including where partner organisations or individuals are part of the delivery of our work. This includes children and vulnerable adults in the community who may be vulnerable to abuse. WCMC Europe act with integrity, are transparent and expect applicants to share the same values.
This will consist of all aspects of office management, including general administration, contractual support, liaison with IT support and facilities. The postholder will report directly to the Operations Manager and Project Portfolio Manager, ensuring necessary operations and processes are implemented and supporting the Project Portfolio Manager with project implementation, including in relation to budgeting, contracting and providing timely and accurate financial information and analyses.
The post holder will bring experience in general administration, support and coordination role between different service providers.

Mr Jonathan Hughes
Jonathan ‘Jonny’ Hughes has overall leadership responsibility for WCMC whilst fostering seamless collaboration between the charity and the UN Environment Programme as UNEP-WCMC (known collectively as the Centre).
As leader of WCMC, Jonny is responsible for building a high-performance culture that ensures quality outputs and measurable impact for UNEP-WCMC as it strives towards its vision for a ‘sustainable world for biodiversity and people’.
Jonny reports to the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of WCMC.

Dr. Robin Bidwell CBE
Director & Chairman of the Board
Robin joined the WCMC Board of Trustees in 2016.
Robin has a distinguished career in the private, public and non-profit sectors. He built and led the global environmental advisory firm, Environmental Resources Management (ERM) and currently chairs LOC, a global marine and engineering consultancy.
Robin also chairs an R+D Fund for OFGEM, the energy regulator; is an adviser to the Conservation Programmes Director at ZSL and chairs two social impact investment funds focussed on environment/poverty in developing countries and the Low Carbon Enterprise Fund (a charity).
Robin also chaired the Green Alliance from 2008 to 2015. He was awarded a CBE in 1999 for Services to the Environment.
Hannah is responsible for the daily management of WCMC-Europe. For 10 years Hannah has been dedicated to using her expertise and passion for the natural world to secure resources for its conservation.
As Head of External Affairs for UNEP-WCMC Hannah oversees external engagement with a particular emphasis on new partnership development.
Project Portfolio Manager
Elise joined WCMC Europe after working for UNEP-WCMC for almost 10 years, mostly in the Conserving Land and Seascapes Programme, first based in Cambridge, then in Brussels.
Elise is responsible for providing oversight to a growing portfolio of EU projects and support to fundraising and partnership for WCMC Europe. This includes ensuring projects are consistently delivered to a high standard and in line with the expectations of our international funders and partners, including the European Commission and other key partner organisations in Europe.
It also involves liaising with UNEP-WCMC, identifying new opportunities for projects and collaborations, and supporting a healthy and sustainable project development pipeline to effectively deliver WCMC Europe’s strategy, as well as supporting our work with IUCN World Heritage programme.
Prior to joining WCMC Europe, Luis was working as Finance and Administration Director of Caritas Europa. At WCMC Europe, Luis is responsible for the smooth running of the day-to-day administrative aspects of WCMC Europe operations.
His role involves all aspects of office management, including general administration, facilities management, liaison with IT, HR and payroll providers, general financial and contractual responsibility, as well as travel bookings.
Luis is also responsible for management of the office budget, ensuring necessary operational policies and procedures are in place, and supporting project implementation and reporting by providing support in budgeting, contracting and financial information.
